Infinity/JVC/PPI Stereo System

These pictures show the stereo system as it was until November 2001. At that time the CD player, amp and sub were removed and transferred to my 2000 Grand Am GT. Some new components were added to the Grand Am as well. See all the details here

JVC On
REMOVED!!

New JVC KD-LX1 CD receiver when turned on - Now you see it....

JVC Off
Now you don't! Same stereo when off.

Front Speakers
Custom mounted Infinity Kappa 40.1cs 4" mid and 1" tweeter separates. Plate is laser cut plexiglas designed and made by me :) Rear speakers are Infinity Kappa 462.1cf 4"x6" plate speakers which required some cutting to fit behind stock grills.

Subwoofer

REMOVED!!

10" Precision Power PowerClass flat piston subwoofer. Ferrofluid cooled 2" voice coil, and E-Glass/Nomex honeycomb flat "cone". Handles 200 watts RMS power and has almost 18mm of cone excursion! Custom made box, 5/8" MDF, about .75 cu-ft internal volume. Passenger seat is still quite usable, (plus you get a nice leg massage too!)

Amplifier

REMOVED!!
Precision Power PC6600 Powerclass amplifier. This is running 50 watts into 4 channels for the main speakers, and the 5th and 6th channels bridged into one 200 watt channel for the subwoofer. This thing has variable built-in crossovers for the main channels and a 90hz low pass crossover for the sub. Also has Q-Bass control for bass boost from 0db to 18db. And yes, its chrome plated and is almost 2 feet long.

Here is a current interior picture. New seats, steering wheel and shift knob, as well as the CD player from my 2000 Grand Am GT.
